What once was the home of a local Coca-Cola bottling plant has been transformed into a quaint museum. The new Cedartown Museum of Coca-Cola Memorabilia is home to a variety of branded keepsakes, telling the history of the world-famous soft drink, the Cedartown bottling plant, and its impact on the region.
Recently opened, the museum offers a comprehensive story from Coca-Cola’s humble beginnings in 1886 to its departure from Cedartown’s Main Street in 1977. Visitors are entertained by a variety of artifacts including vintage delivery vehicles, porcelain and tin signage, a century old soda fountain, and hundreds of other pieces. Through a partnership with the official Coca-Cola Archives, the Cedartown museum will have an annual rotating exhibit of items on loan from the Archives to keep guests coming back.
The renovation represents the largest private investment made on Main Street in Cedartown in years. By restoring this historical site, the owners hope to help bolster Cedartown’s historical district and strengthen the town. Duffey Southeast Construction was happy to be part of this historic project by providing construction services for the new visitor parking lot.
