Inspiring the Next Generation at the Construction Ready Career Expo & State Leadership and Skills Challenge
Last week, Duffey Southeast, Inc. had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Construction Ready Career Expo and State Leadership and Skills Challenge, where over 7,000 students—from elementary school to college—got hands-on experience with the many career paths in the skilled trades. With 1,500 industry professionals and another 1,500 parents and teachers in attendance, the event provided a powerful platform for students and their parents to explore careers in the industry. The World of Construction Management showcased the planning, coordination, and leadership skills required to bring projects to life. It was inspiring to see students engage with our team, ask insightful questions, and begin to see themselves in the industry.
Beyond construction management, students had the opportunity to explore a variety of trade skills, including electrical, masonry, roofing, painting and many more. Interactive exhibits and hands-on activities allowed them to operate machinery, lay bricks, and even wire circuits—experiences that may spark lifelong careers. The energy throughout the event reinforced the importance of investing in workforce development and inspiring the next generation. We are proud to be part of an industry that values mentorship and skill-building, and we look forward to continuing our efforts to connect young people with the many rewarding opportunities in construction.
